Holly & Cranberry Centerpiece with Candles for Your Christmas Table
How is your Christmas centerpiece with candles going to look like this year?
Am I taking for granted that your centerpiece will have candles? YES!
I love candles!
I love Holly too! I find it so festive and rich.
It’s the perfect final touch, (or the only one for that matter), for any holiday decor, whether it’s on the Christmas dinner table or in a glass jar over the mantle.
In our home, it becomes the substitute for Eucalyptus at Christmas time.
It’s in jars throughout the house and on the Christmas table every year!
Fresh Holly branches last a long time if kept in water.
Its berries are so bright, cheerful and dainty…and look great combined with the rich colours of cranberry.
If you share my same addiction for candles, and like the look of Holly and cranberry together, you can combine these elements to create a simple, yet beautiful and unique Christmas centerpiece with candles.

1. what do you need
To create this beautiful Christmas centerpiece with candles, you’ll need:
- a glass container
- a few branches of fresh Holly
- fresh cranberry
- floating candles
2. Place Holly in container
Snap a few leaves or pieces of Holly branches and place them inside your glass container(s) so that they fill the space.
3. add berries
Add berries to your container(s) making sure they are equally distributed throughout.
4. add water
Add water into your container(s). At this point you’ll be able to determine whether you need more berries to fill your container(s).
5. add more berries
Once my container(s) has been filled with water I am able to determine if I need more berries, (it’s usually the case). Sometime, I even add berries after placing the candle(s) in the container(s) to make the composition look fuller and richer.
6. place Candle in container
Place floating candle(s) in the container(s).
I use floating candles mostly for my large, flat glass centerpiece. However, if you are only making glass jars, you can use regular tealight candles as the berries will support their weight.
7. light it up!
Once you are happy with your composition, light the candles for a few minutes, even if it’s not party time! Burnt candles always look better than shiny new candles!
8. Enjoy it for days!
This centerpiece will last you for at least 10 days, so my recommendation is to make it ahead of your party and enjoy it for a while. You can always replace the candles!
That’s it!
It is pretty simple!
Hope you enjoy your Christmas centerpiece with candles!
